Louisville women trick Duke into defending wrong basket

Basketball isn’t a sport that lends itself to trick plays, but the Louisville women’s basketball team made Duke look foolish with one on Monday night.

As the teams took the floor for the third quarter, Louisville sent three players under one basket, while the other two served as the in-bounder and the point guard, who stood nearby to take the ball. Duke retreated to play defense, sending all five players into the defensive end.

Unfortunately for the Blue Devils, they all went to the wrong side, leaving Louisville point guard Briahanna Jackson free for an uncontested layup. The basket gave Louisville a 27-23 lead.

No. 13 Duke would have the last laugh, however, getting a home win over No. 8 Louisville, 58-55.
