2019 Oscars: ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ ‘A Star Is Born’, and All the Nominees

There’s no host for the 91st Annual Academy Awards, but there is plenty of nominees. With 24 categories announced Tuesday morning, the world is watching to see who takes home an Oscar and becomes a part of movie history.

The Best Picture race offers a diverse cross-section of box office hits and award season darlings. Some like Black PantherBohemian Rhapsody and A Star Is Born hold the distinction of being both. Those three films are up for the night’s biggest award, along with BlacKkKlansmanThe FavouriteGreen BookRoma, and Vice.

Golden Globes winner Rami Malek is once again nominated for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury, as is Glenn Close for her role in The Wife. Director Alfonso Cuaron is nominated for Roma, and both Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga scored acting nominations for their work in A Star Is Born.

After all of the drama surrounding a host for the awards, the night will go without one for the first time in 30 years when the awards air on Sunday February 24th.
