‘Roseanne’ returns!

“Roseanne” viewers have held a nostalgic place in their hearts for the show, which originally ran for nine seasons from 1988 to 1997.

New promo videos for ABC’s upcoming “Roseanne” revival are joking about how John Goodman died in the original series finale. The network said it would basically ignore the events of the last episode, and move on with original cast members Goodman, Barr, Sara Gilbert, Johnny Galecki, Michael Fishman, Laurie Metcalf, Lecy Goranson and Sarah Chalke (Yes, both Beckys!) Both Goranson and Chalke played Becky over the show’s nine seasons, but Chalke will now play a woman named Andrea who hires Becky to be her surrogate.

“Roseanne” returns with an hour-long episode Tuesday, March 27 at 8 p.m., followed by eight half-hour episodes starting Tuesday, April 3 at 8 p.m.

The cast gathers for their first table read for the revival’s premiere episode entitled “Twenty Years to Life.”
